Injected medications called GLP-1 agonists are in high demand because they have proved to be so effective for weight loss. The difference, which was statistically significant, amounted to a 52% increased risk of being diagnosed with stomach paralysis while on a GLP-1 medication. Compared with those who were not taking a GLP-1 medication, those who did were about 66% more likely to be diagnosed with gastroparesis. This study found that 0.53% of patients on GLP-1 medications were diagnosed with stomach paralysis, or about 1 case of gastroparesis for every 200 people taking the drugs. People taking GLP-1 medications were also more likely to have nausea and vomiting or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and to be prescribed a proton pump inhibitor.

Siri, the mildly reliable virtual assistant for that phone, came along a few years later. assistant with whom the sad-sack divorcé Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix) fell in love in “Her,” felt like a futuristic revelation. Voiced by Scarlett Johansson, Samantha was similar to Siri, if Siri liked you and wanted you to like her back. In theory, everyone in “Her” was using their own version of Samantha, presumably with different names and voices. Those who watched the live demo from OpenAI, the company that makes ChatGPT, were quick to note that she sounded a whole lot like Samantha — which is to say, like Johansson.

Once she graduated, Regan was offered an internship at a company based in Paris in 2022, providing her with the opportunity to live in the French capital. The Conversation —Often a posture assigned to teenagers and disaffected youth, slouching is traditionally considered to be a “bad” posture — with some claiming it will damage your spine and cause pain. But while posture is heavily overlaid with psychological meaning, is it really that bad for our spines if we slouch? There’s also no clear evidence that slouching while sitting at your desk or while using your phone causes damage to the spine. Slouching has been linked to poorer information and memory recall, as well as worse mood when compared to sitting upright. But aside from that, the evidence overwhelmingly suggests there’s no single, ideal or good posture.

A dermatologist told Business Insider sunscreen is the most important part of her routine. Everyone's skin wrinkles as they age, but genes, UV exposure, and repeated facial expressions can govern how deep they are and how many develop. Many people turn to "antiaging" creams and beauty products to lessen the appearance of wrinkles — in 2023, facial antiaging products made over $1 billion in the US, according to Statista. But because the Food and Drug Administration doesn't evaluate beauty products for effectiveness, there's no guarantee they will reduce wrinkles. And sleeping in separate beds isn't something my partner and I talked about. AdvertisementDeciding to sleep in separate beds was easyWhen we met, we weren't as mature or secure about each other and ourselves as we are now. This is when choosing to sleep in separate beds became a naturally comfortable choice. Two separate beds also help us avoid waking each other up when we go to sleep at different times or stir at night. Sleeping in separate beds proved to be a great choiceNot sleeping in the same bed gives us a sense of physical freedom and mental space — something that we value being with each other for almost two decades.

There's so much personal finance advice out there, but as I settle into adult life, I rely more and more on the fundamentals my parents taught me. But this is another one of the key money lessons my baby boomer parents taught me. Being economical often gets a bad rap, but I think it's one of the most valuable money habits my baby boomer parents instilled in me, especially given the cost of living today. Now that I'm older and have more expenses, my experience and relationship with money influenced by my baby boomer parents have hopefully set me up for success.

Opinion: Why Julian Assange’s fate matters

A determined American journalist, let’s call her Gillian, is sleuthing away at a story about India’s nuclear weapons program. Though Gillian is based in London, when she finally gets to publish her story, the Indian government is bent on revenge. Is Washington going to stand idly by and meekly accept the possibility of an American journalist languishing in an Indian jail? The clue is in the inverted commas around “journalist.” To my mind, Julian Assange is in some ways recognizably a journalist. However, to many journalists Assange is not a proper “journalist,” and they can’t really see what his fate has to do with theirs.

Opinion: Credibility is the key at Trump trial

The idea that Cohen talked to Trump about Daniels on that call “was a lie,” Blanche alleged. Moreover, my experience has been that juries don’t decide based upon one moment — they base their judgment on an overall view.”There were allegedly three parties aware of the scheme to conceal the real reason Trump paid Cohen more than $400,000 in supposed legal fees: Trump, Cohen and Allen Weisselberg, then-chief financial officer of the Trump Organization. “Weisselberg could be the linchpin to validate Cohen’s claims about Trump agreeing to reimburse him through Trump Organization, as a business expense,” wrote attorney Stacy Schneider. Trump seems to be tempted to go mano a mano and show that he is better fit to be commander-in-chief. The new requirement for GOP politicians wanting to demonstrate their loyalty to Trump seems to be visiting the Manhattan courthouse where he’s on trial.
